Watch Method Man Crush a 475-Pound Deadlift and Set a New PR

Method Man has been using quarantine to his advantage and has the gains to prove it. The rapper, who turned 50 last week, recently shared a look at his latest deadlift PR, pulling an impressive 475 pounds from the ground and with seemingly relative ease.

Even more impressive: His new PR reflects an increase of nearly 40 pounds in less than a year. “Goals…475…eatin’ and motivating!!” he wrote in the post’s caption. “WE BREAKING PR’S OVER HERE!”

The Grammy Award winning musician previously shared an inside look at the five-day routine he’s been using to pack on all that strength, described as “heavy, heavy, all year round.” (Here’s the exact workout he uses to smash his back and core.)

Method Man also revealed that he regularly wakes up at 4 a.m. to hit the gym, which initially started as a more productive way to deal with insomnia, rather than playing video games in the middle of the night. Now he’s motivated by an even more ambitious goal: to get as jacked as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

“My goal is to get to a point where I can take my shirt off in any setting and basically be The Rock, but without the tattoos and the accolades,” he previously told Men’s Health. At the rate he’s going, we wouldn’t bet against him.
