They may have made headlines recently with the shocking revelations discussed in their tell-all interview with Oprah, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to have put such royal scandal behind them, with the pair now looking forward to the arrival of their second child. Before they stepped away as senior members of the British royal family, the pair would have had to follow strict protocol when it comes to the birth of their child, but now it appears Meghan Markle is taking the lead and calling the shots when it comes to her pregnancy.
According to reports from Page Six, do antibiotics affect pregnancy test results Meghan and Prince Harry are now planning a home birth for their second child – a daughter. It will be the first time ever a member of the British royal family will be born on US soil, at the pair’s Californian estate.
It brings to mind Princess Diana, who wasn’t named the People’s Princess for nothing. It was the Princess of Wales who first broke with royal tradition of giving birth at Buckingham Palace, instead giving birth to prince William in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in 1982. Biographers even noted that she was the first to decide to be 100 per cent awake and give birth to both her boys in an upright position. What Princess Diana did soon came to inspire others, with Kate Middleton following her mother-in-law’s lead by giving birth at St Mary’s Hospital as well.

As Page Six reports, the couple wanted to have a home birth for Archie, too. “Meghan’s plan was to have a home birth with Archie, but you know what they say about the best-laid plans,” a source told the publication.
“In the end, her doctors advised her to go to the hospital and all she was interested in was about delivering Archie safely.” The source added, “But she has a beautiful home in California, it’s a beautiful setting to give birth to her baby girl.”

The couple were thrilled when they announced they were expecting a girl to Oprah. Prince Harry exclaimed: “A girl, you know, what more can you ask for? But now, you know, now we’ve got our family. We’ve got, you know, the four of us and our two dogs, and it’s great.”
News of their pregnancy first hit back on Valentine’s Day when the pair released a stunning black and white photo taken by their long-time friend and photographer, Misan Harriman. It’s believed the delivery is expected for some time in the northern hemisphere’s summer.
