Kate Hudson, 42, Is All Washboard Abs In Adorable Post-Workout Photos With Her Daughter On Instagram

  • Kate Hudson, 42, shared adorable new photos with her daughter, Rani Rose, after her workout.
  • Her abs look like a legit washboard thanks to Pilates, The Mirror, and more in her fitness routine.
  • Kate says she learned about taking care of her body from her parents and ensures her children learn about how fun fitness is by moving with her, too.

Kate Hudson is all about getting her fitness in, and she just shared the sweetest message about including her kids on her health journey, too.

Kate, 42, opened up about her love of movement alongside a series of photos of herself exercising with her adorable daughter Rani. (They’ve done mother-daughter yoga, and it’s the cutest.)

“Those who recover together… maybe you can finish the sentence 💪🌸,” she wrote in the caption. “I grew up witnessing my parents take care of their bodies. People always ask me how I get motivated to stay in shape. The answer is, it’s what I know. It’s how I was raised.”

Kate said that it’s “engrained” in her brain that “honoring and working our body is a gift and so I don’t take it for granted.”

“I loooove moving,” she continued. “I love when it’s challenging. I love being in charge of my results. And I looooove seeing my daughter have fun doing it with me. They watch everything we do! Gotta make some good moves for kids 💃🏋️‍♀️🧘‍♀️.”

People cheered her on in the comments.“Agree! Like brushing your teeth. Habits become part of who we are. Kids learn from their parents! Body in motion stays in motion! ❤️🔥❤️,” one wrote. “Accountability buddy ❤️❤️❤️,” another said.

While Kate’s message is all kinds of inspiring, it’s hard to miss the fact that she’s rocking some serious washboard abs. Of course, practicing what you preach has a funny way of leading to jacked muscles.

“I’ve always felt that wellness is about your quality of life,” Kate previously told Women’s Health. “You need to know what makes you feel good. It’s about doing the things you love, eating the things you want to, exercising and not feeling like you need to [push yourself] for two hours in a hot room. You can just take a nice walk and still be healthy.”

So…what does she do, other than toddler-friendly workouts and look super toned mid-recovery? Kate is big on intermittent fasting, and won’t usually eat until 11 or 11:30 a.m. each day. She also likes to cook at home and follows the WW point system (she’s a brand ambassador). “I make beautiful meals that have no points, then I can indulge,” she previously told Women’s Health. “I’ll do a whole day eating amazing ZeroPoint foods [like chicken and leafy greens], then I have wine and ice cream.”

Kate said she likes to work out sometime after breakfast but before her kids’ school and Rani’s naptime. She’ll do Pilates or one of Tracy Anderson’s dance-based classes.

Kate makes a point to do three or four workouts a week, and she’s always mixing things up. That might mean using The Mirror or Peloton. “I have the Peloton Tread, I just got it, and I love Peloton,” Kate previously told Women’s Health. “I think they make it so easy to have ‘no excuse’ workouts. [I can spend] 10 minutes doing a little mile run instead of just sitting there doing nothing.”

But it’s Pilates that really works her core. Her trainer Nicole Stuart told Parade, “For my sessions with Kate, I focused on attuning to her body and abs, as mothers go through ab separation post-pregnancy. The most important goal for the sessions was to allow her to move to music and feel her body and muscles.”

Clearly, it worked!
