Although fans have admired Ben Affleck’s movies for years, his kids aren’t exactly huge supporters of his work. Much like Courteney Cox, who recently admitted her daughter Coco didn’t watch Scream, antidepressant medication fluoxetine side effects the Argo actor told Matt Damon in a Jan. 11 interview for Entertainment Weekly that his kids “won’t even watch” his movies. There’s one movie in particular that Affleck’s kids, Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 9, whom he shares with ex Jennifer Garner, love making fun of him for: Armageddon.
“It’s funny because that’s the one movie of mine that my kids have watched and they’ll kind of all admit to liking, even though they relentlessly mock it and me,” Affleck said in the interview. ‘What are you, driving a tank on the moon?’ But they had fun, you know what I mean? They won’t even watch The Town. So there you have it.”
Damon, who is dad to Alexia, 23, Isabella, 15, Gia, 13, and Stella, 11, with wife Luciana Barroso, responded, “My kids won’t watch my stuff, either.”
Affleck also mentioned that the way we view older movies has changed now. For example, about Gigli, he said “There was wonderful stuff in there. There are things where my daughter will be like, ‘this is ableist and disgusting,’ and okay. The way we see stuff has changed a little bit, or a lot in some cases. And there are things that seemed they could work at the time and don’t in retrospect.” This is something Damon also has experience with, as one of his daughters told him last year to stop using a homophobic slur.
