Dr Amir has described five Omicron symptoms and how to spot them on ITV’s Lorraine. These symptoms were first reported in South Africa, where patients with Omicron are currently being treated.
Dr Amir said: “The traditional symptoms of Covid on the NHS website are dry cough, a fever, a loss of sense of smell and taste.
“But Omicron symptoms that are coming out of South Africa, by the doctors that are looking after patients with Omicron, show these five new symptoms.”
These include:
- Scratchy throat
- Mild muscle aches
- Extreme tiredness
- Dry cough
- Night sweats.
